Rivers State opens three new road corridors ahead of the rains

Three arterial corridors were formally opened this week, part of a programme the state government says will reshape movement across greater Port Harcourt before the peak of the rainy season.

Atlantic Television Network visited each site. Surfacing is largely complete; the drainage channels that residents have asked about for years remain partially open at two of the three locations.

Officials at the ministry of works told our reporters that the remaining channel work is scheduled for completion within the quarter, and that maintenance contracts have been awarded alongside construction for the first time.
